About Plant Protect

Plant Protect  was established with a mission to plant trees and improve lives globally. Trees play a vital role in creating a healthier planet by:

  • Absorbing Carbon Dioxide: Trees capture CO₂ from the atmosphere and store it in their wood, helping to slow the build up of greenhouse gases.
  • Purifying the Air: They remove harmful pollutants and particulate matter, improving air quality and protecting lung health.
  • Boosting Health: The natural chemicals trees release can enhance immunity and strengthen the immune, hormonal, circulatory, and nervous systems.
  • Protecting Water Resources: Trees store and filter water, contributing to clean and sustainable water supplies.
  • Supporting Biodiversity: As a cornerstone of life on Earth, trees provide essential habitats for wildlife and resources for human survival.

Trees are indispensable for both the environment and humanity, making their preservation and growth critical for a sustainable future.

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

Our founder, Pam developed a love for trees at a young age. Growing up she noticed that the more affluent neighbourhoods always seemed to have trees and greenery, and to her young mind, trees became symbols of happiness, wealth and joy. That early connection stayed with her, and only grew stronger, eventually inspiring her mission to protect the planet and look at how planting trees could also help to reduce carbon emissions.

After many years in business Pam became uncomfortable with the climate impact of corporations. She decided that collective action was the only way to help make the world a better place. Thus, Plant Protect was born. Our world is changing, and people and businesses need to change with it. Whilst planting and preserving trees is definitely a step in the right direction, so too is our ability to reduce our carbon footprint. We want to empower businesses of all size to take climate action by reducing their carbon emissions and working towards becoming sustainable businesses.

My personal mission

“My heart beats for the trees, the wildlife, and the people of our planet. This business isn’t just a venture-it’s my love letter to Earth. Every day, I wake up driven by a singular purpose: to heal our world and protect those who can’t protect themselves. Through the simple act of planting trees and preserving forests, we’re not just offsetting carbon; we’re breathing life into struggling communities, creating sanctuaries for endangered wildlife, and weaving a safety net for our planet’s future. I dream of a world where every business, no matter how small, can be part of this beautiful restoration through their sustainability efforts. This is more than my life’s work-it’s my legacy of love for all living beings, a testament to the power of collective hope and action.”

At Plant Protect, our focus is on education—helping people understand our message and how they can contribute to leaving the planet in the best possible shape for future generations.

The world faces pressing challenges, including hunger, poverty, and a changing climate that threatens millions globally.

Our Partners

Amazon Conservation, have over the past 25 years, helped create more than 10.5 million acres of forest in the Amazon’s most biodiverse region to keep vast forests intact and ensure connected habitats that enable wildlife to have the space they need to thrive and adapt the in the face of climate change. Amazon Conservation also works diligently with local governments, indigenous federations, and communities to strengthen land management through empowering knowledge transfer; directly address major threats that endanger biodiversity, connectivity, and peoples wellbeing; and build climate resilience for vulnerable wildlife and healthy ecosystems. Every acre our members help protect, helps them to keep the vast system of forests intact and thriving in order to protect and conserve the habitat of some of the planet’s most iconic wildlife, from jaguars and sloths to toucan and capybara.

Your Future Trees, has been around for over thirty years and provides hands-on agroforestry training and resources to farming communities. By embracing sustainable land practices, farmers are reclaiming their agency, breaking the cycles of climate change and generational poverty and rebuilding their food systems from the ground up. They work with thousands of farming families across sub-Saharan Africa where climatic and economic challenges are most pressing and they can make the most impact. They run what’s known as the ‘Forest Garden Project’ by diversifying production and protecting their soils, Forest Gardeners farm with nature, rather than against it, serving both people and planet – this approach meets nine our of seventeen of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. Trees for the Future – Recognised as a UN World Restoration Flagship.

Ripple Africa, run large scale environmental projects across six districts in Malawi. Ripple Africa’s belief is “Providing a hand UP and not a hand out,” and that philosophy has been central to the charity’s ideology for nearly two decades. As a result of deforestation in Malawi one of their first environmental projects was community tree planting which continues to be a very successful project with about two million trees planted annually. One of the big causes of deforestation was due to the traditional method of cooking which used large amounts of firewood. Ripple Africa worked with the communities and developed a fuel-efficient cookstove called the Changu Changu Moto (Fast Fast Fire). Today, there are more that 600,00 people cooking their food every day on one of these fuel efficient cookstoves. This is saving 250,000 bundles of wood every week. Ripple Africa projects include: Fish Conservation, Tree Planting, including fruit and nut trees, and Forest Conservation. Additionally, they also run, Education projects for pre-school, primary school children and adult education, and Healthcare projects supporting over 180 children and their families.

Together, we can cultivate a healthier, more sustainable world for generations to come.
